Overview
The system uses over a thousand nozzles and compressed-air shooters that throw water more than 140 metres, engineered by the firm that later built the Dubai Fountain to the same principle at larger scale. The repertoire runs from Sinatra to opera and the shows differ, so a second one is not a repeat. The lake sits where the Dunes casino was demolished in 1993, which is the Vegas pattern: nothing here is old and everything replaced something.
Highlights
Watch from the pavement in front rather than a restaurant terrace; the view is the same and the sightline is better. The last shows of the night are the least crowded. Wind cancels them, which is more common than visitors expect.
